You're now prompted to set up a variety of features—your Photo Frame, music & audio, TV and video, and the like. Tap to select which features you want to set up at the moment. You can set up any of these at a later time, as well.

During setup, or afterward when visiting Device Settingsfor your smart plug, you will see an option that says Device Type. To get started, first plug your Google Home device into an outlet. There is no power button on the Google Home, so as long as it’s plugged into an outlet, it’s automatically on. Wait a few minutes for it to light up, and it will then begin looking for your phone to set up a connection.
Unlink your bulb(s) from your speaker or display
Given everything that you can do with your Google Home and/or Google Nest Hub, it’s easy to forget some of the simple tasks it can handle. One that I make use of a few times a week is the ability to make calls. Once you have it set up this is dead simple, so here’s how to get started making calls with Google Home and Google Nest Hub.
If you'd like to use your Nest Hub to make phone calls, you'll now be asked to link your Google Duo phone number and account. If this isn't something you think you'll ever need, tap Not now to skip it. Next, the app will ask you to verify a four-digit alphanumeric code displayed on the Nest screen. Match up the code and tap Next. Your mobile device and your Nest Hub must be connected to the same network.

To connect your Google Home device to your existing Wi-Fi network, download the Google Home app for iOS or download the Google Home app for Android. Also, make sure you have the wireless network name and password handy. After you set up a home hub, you can create custom home automations in the Home appor personal automations in the Shortcuts app.
In the app, tap on Home Control to add a new device. Be sure that these smart home devices are all on the same Wi-Fi network, otherwise, you won’t be able to control them from the Google Home. To use a Google Home device, you’ll need a Google account. If you already have a Gmail address, that’s perfect — go ahead and enter that. If you don’t already have one, head over to gmail.com on your laptop or smartphone to create a new account. Whether you use an iPhone or Android, you can find the Google Home app in the App Store or on Google Play.
How to Connect Google Home to Wi-Fi
This allows Google Home to provide you with better results with certain voice commands (like asking what’s on your agenda for today). Keep in mind that anyone within speaking range can access this info. Select either “Allow” or “Skip” at the bottom. Plug in your speaker or display. If the device has been used before, factory reset your speaker or display before you continue. If you’ve changed your Wi-Fi network’s name or password, or recently replaced your Wi-Fi router, you’ll need to connect your Google Nest device to your new Wi-Fi network.
However, you can also use Google Duo for making calls with Google Nest Hub or Nest Hub Max. You gain the ability to make video calls as well as voice calls this way, but be aware that this is then limited to other Google Duo users. To set that up, follow the instructions below. Make sure your speaker or display, and Philips Hue bridge, are on the same Wi-Fi network and connected to the same router. You might have too many C by GE bulbs on one speakers and displays.
Connect Google Home to a New Wi-Fi Network
You're just about done. You're prompted to review all the setup choices you've made, then you're shown a short video tutorial on how to use the Nest Hub. If prompted to use a saved password, tap Next. If prompted to enter the password for this network, do so now. If prompted to allow nearby devices, tap Next. Make sure your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network to which you'll be connecting the Hub.

Next to "Wi-Fi," tap Forget. You’ll be taken back to the Home app home screen. Use the Home app to manage and securely control your accessorieson your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
Press and hold the microphone button, typically found on the bottom of the device, for approximately 15 seconds. In the list of available Wi-Fi networks, choose the network to which you want to connect Google Home. Then tap Next. Follow the setup steps to set up your device on the new Wi-Fi network. To use your iPad as a home hub, it must remain in your home, powered on, andconnected to your home Wi-Fi network.

Unplug your Google device, pause for at least 10 seconds, and then plug it in again. When finished, Google will give you a chance to review all your choices, and then offer a tutorial that shows you general information about how the device works. You're now walked through each of the features you selected and prompted to configure various options and link various accounts. If you've previously linked any streaming music or video services in the Home app, they should automatically appear here. Follow the on-screen instructions to do so.
